Basil plants make a natural insect repellent. This non-toxic tea will get rid of aphids, leafhoppers, grubs, squash bugs, mites, cabbage loopers and cucumber beetles. Bruise 2 large handfuls of basil leaves and stems. Place in a 1 gallon jar. Add a gallon of water and let sit in sun for 4 to 8 hours. Strain through mesh. Add several drops of liquid soap and mix. Spray on plants.
